Alvin Eugene Gatson, Jr., Binky as he was affectionately called was born on May 28, 1973 to the late Alvin Eugene Gatson, Sr. and Beverly Sanders Gatson Minor. He was united with the Bryant Chapel A.M.E. Church and was baptized under Rev. George L. Washington. He was blessed to have another set of parents, Willie C. Minor and Gwendolyn Gatson. Binky attended St. Marys Grade School, Wenonah High School, Brooklane Baptist Academy, and graduated from Hueytown High School, Class of 1991. He enjoyed playing football during his high school years. He received his Associates Degree in Automotive Mechanics and also a Barber's Certificate. In his past time, he enjoyed fishing, flying airplanes with his step-father, Willie. As a youth, he participated in the Young People's Department (Y.P.D.) at Bryant Chapel A.M.E. Church. He studied the Holy Bible diligently and discussed it with anyone who had an hour or two to listen. He was preceded in death by: father, Alvin Eugene Gatson, Sr.; grandmothers, Mary E. Sanders and Goldell Gatson. Alvin leaves to cherish his loving, generous, and kind spirit: loving parents, Willie & Beverly Minor; step-mother, Gwendolyn Gatson; sisters, Shermiko(Chad) Gatson Robinson and Shawanda Gatson; grandfather, Lindbergh Sanders; great-grandmother, Annie Harris; aunts, a doting aunt, Deborah (Joshua) Holderfield, Rose Lampkin, Mary Horton, Beulah Evans; uncle, Charles (Deborah) Lindbergh Sanders; special cousins, Antoine "Tony" Sanders, Vanraybern "DJ" Thomas; special friend, Joseph Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
