Annie Johnson

Obituary The loving spirit of Annie Byrd Johnson received her wings on April 2, 2019. She was born March 29, 1940 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Lucy Ann Russell) Byrd in Birmingham, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Hall at St. John Baptist Church in Dolomite, Alabama. Later in life she joined First Baptist Carver under the leadership of Reverend Jeffery Braxton in Bessemer, Alabama. She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted husband, Robert Johnson; stepdaughters, Sheryl (Kenneth) Johnson, Detroit, MI and Verginetta Johnson, Bessemer, AL; stepson, Eric Johnson, Bessemer, AL; two grandsons; five granddaughters; sisters, Ola May Larry of Delaware, Carolyn Pittman, Hattie B. Lewis, Marie (Sidney) Austin and Marilyn Byrd all of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Robert (Alicia) Leggett, Jonathan Leggett, Frank and Walter Byrd all of Birmingham, AL; special niece/daughter, Saralyn Jackson; goddaughter, Brenda Blutcher; four nieces, two nephews, three great nieces, three great nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
