Brenda Brown

Brenda Gay Brown was born to Prentice and Frederica Banks on April 21, 1948 in Bessemer, AL. She
later met and married Wilfred L. Brown and to their union three daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her older brothers, Prentice Banks and Freddie Lee Banks.
Brenda departed this life on December 8, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older
brother, Freddie Lee Banks. She leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Her
children, Stacie Young (Greg), Patrice McLaurin (Darren) and Jocelyn James (Van); her beloved
grandchildren, Khemi McLaurin, Kobie James, Rahsun Mclaurin and Brooklyn James; her siblings
Margaret Johnson, Loretta (Johnny) Reed, Lorraine Banks, Don (Venida) Banks and Debra Ross; nieces
and nephews that she loved and adored, as well as other family friends that are too great to name.
Brenda Brown, affectionately known as “Ms. Brown” and “Geezy”, will forever be loved and adored by
all of those she left behind. And though she will be truly missed, we can all lean into the memory of her
smile on those days when our hearts are hurting, remember her unmatched strength when we feel we
have nothing left to give, and find comfort in the knowing that she is now resting in God’s grace and
mercy.
