On March 31, 1948 Catherine Phillips Davis made her entrance into the world, being born to Viola Phillips and the late David Lee Phillips. She was educated in the Brighton School System and was a graduate of Brighton High School Class of 1966. Continuing her education she attended Lawson State Community College for a year before relocating to Columbus, Ohio where she was employed at IBM. While in Ohio, Catherine attended night courses at Ohio State University. Relocating back to Alabama she enrolled at Alabama A&M University where she participated in the band as a majorette. In September of 1971 she married Oscar Truitt, Jr. to this union two children were born, Olanda and Traneidra Truitt. In August of 1991 Catherine married the late Sherman Davis. She was preceded in death by: brother, Davie Lee Phillips. On March 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family Catherine made the transition from labor to rest. Left to cherish her precious memories are: son, Olanda Truitt; daughter, Traneidra Truitt; mother, Viola Phillips; three grandsons, two granddaughters and one great grandson; two brothers; one sister and a host of other relatives and friends.
