Claudia Robinson Darcheville was born October 23, 1945 in Bessemer, AL to the late Ben Clark & Mattie Hudson. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Garder. Claudia was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School Class of 1964; shortly after graduation Claudia and her Sister Ada moved to New York where Claudia began working with the city of New York as a case worker. She worked with the city of New York for 25 years until retirement. Claudia was very selective in choosing her friends. She was very warm, generous and friendly. She was generous in sharing her blessings with those she loved. She and her mother spoke every day: first in the morning, throughout the day and every night. In her past time she enjoyed looking out her window, watching Jeopardy and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and sharing things that expanded the mind with family and friends. She was preceded in death: brother, Bobby Woods; mother, Mattie Hudson; two sisters, Ernestine Adams and Ada Robinson; two brothers, Roy (Louise) Hudson and Willie George Hudson; sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Woods; two uncles, Eddie Mitchell and John Mitchell; aunt, Mary Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. "We grieve in the hope that one day we will wake up to a new day when our tears will be less, our pain will be less, and our hearts can rejoice."
