Darrell McGuire

Darrell McGuire was born on January 6, 1969, to Lurline McGuire in Birmingham, Alabama. The
world dimmed a little on October 7, 2023, when Darrell McGuire took his rest.
Life is a series of moments, and Darrell McGuire's moments were painted with love, dedication,
and a vigor for life. Throughout his journey, his deep and unwavering faith anchored him,
reflecting a profound and healthy relationship with God. We bid him farewell, cherishing the
life he lived and the hearts he touched.
Darrell, affectionately known as “Dooley”, was a beacon of ambition and commitment from his
youth.
After graduating high school, he completed a brave stint as a soldier in the United States
Army, mastered the art of freemasonry, and completed a degree in his journey of life. Darrell’s
expertise in the piping industry was unmatched, spanning two decades of dedication. His
leadership and deep knowledge were often sought after, leading him to travel across the
country to share his skills and mentor the next generation.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Darrell bled orange and blue for his Florida Gators. Yet, the
true essence of Darrell was best seen in intimate family moments, especially those shared at his
sister, Phyllis Watkins' home. The laughs, stories, and simple joys have now become memories
for his family and countless friends to treasure.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lurline McGuire; his grandparents, Archie and
Amanda Watkins; his brother, Byron McGuire; and his nephews, Brandon and Desmon McGuire.
Darrell's legacy lives on through his wife, Tamara McGuire; his daughters, Danielle (Stephen)
Stoudemire, Durielle McGuire and Dayana McGuire. The twinkle in his eye, his grandchildren,
Dayon McGuire-Abbott and Donovan Stoudemire, will no doubt carry forth his vigor for life.
Beyond the family Darrell built, he is warmly cherished by his two sisters, Phyllis Watkins
and Valencia McGuire and a loving aunt, Ruth Johnson. His extended family includes bonus
children, ZyKhalia Reliford and Jahlen Mays, and his adored bonus grandchildren, Zymeria
Reliford, Jordyn Holloway, and Zylen Reliford. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces,
nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
As we gather on Saturday, October 14, 2023, we won't just mourn his absence. We'll celebrate
a life lived fully, with heart and soul. The chapters of Darrell McGuire's life are rich, vibrant, and
remain a testament to a man who truly lived.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memories continue to inspire all who knew him.
