Darie Green

Darie Tyrone Green, Sr. was born June 24, 1961, to the late

Darie Manuel Green and Sallie Mae Green in Bessemer,

Alabama.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with

Macedonia Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama under the

leadership of Reverend B.B. Strawder.

Darie was a 1979 graduate of Wenonah High School. He

later joined the U. S. Army and served during Operations

Desert Storm. He was employed with the City of Bessemer

until his passing.

Affectionately known by those closest to him as "Rone",

he had a matter-of-fact way of honestly expressing his

opinions that bared all realities but kept you laughing at the

same time.

Darie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers,

Curtis and Lonnie, Sr. and one sister, Diane. Darie departed

this life on Saturday, February 10. 2024.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife,

LaTosha Green; three sons, Darie (Shelice) Williams,

Jerrell (Precious) Williams and Darie Green, Jr.; stepson,

Rolando Sanders; two daughters, Kimiko (Rico) Phillips

and Evanonain Sanders; stepdaughter, Heaven Sanders;

nineteen grandchildren; one brother, Dwayne (Kresha)

Green; three sister, Eloise (Emanuel) Bozeman, Barbara

Roberts and Valentina (Kevin) Beavers; a host of uncles,

aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, coworkers

and friends.
