Dorothy Reed

Dorothy Louise Reed was born on July 16, 1949 in Geiger, Alabama to J.P. and the late Lille Mae Little. She confessed faith in Christ at an early age in Geiger, Alabama. Dorothy later united with Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. R. L. Starkey. Dorothy was a faithful and dutiful member of the Number Two Usher Board for many years. Dorothy was a 1968 graduate of Brighton High School and a member of the Class of '68 Committee. She worked as a presser for the dry cleaners for 30 years. Dorothy united in holy matrimony to the late Joe L. Reed, Jr. in 1968. To this union three children were born. She later united with Charles A. Bouyer and one child was born. Dorothy was known for her smile, her love for her family and people around her. Her passion was clothes and shoes. She never met a stranger that didn't end up being apart of her life. She lived her life to the fullest. Dorothy went home to be with her heavenly father on November 7, 2014. She was preceded in death by: mother, Lillie Mae Little; brothers, James and J.P. Little, Jr.; sister, Mattie Mae Little. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories: father, J.P. Little, Bessemer, AL; four children, Randall Reed (Carolyn Powell) Huntsville, AL, Joe (Jacquiese) Reed III, Huffman, AL, Angela Reed, Hueytown, AL, Jessica Reed, Fairfield, AL and Derrick Bouyer, Hueytown, AL; sister, Carolyn Blackmon, Bessemer, AL; seventeen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four godsisters; five nephews; three nieces; two special nieces, Sandra and Deborah; god daughter, Stephanie Berry; sixteen great nieces and nephews and many beloved relatives and friends.
