Our beloved Edward Charles Lee was born on September 4, 1954, to the late Essie Lee and Robert Lee in Bessemer, Alabama. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined 6th Avenue Beulah Baptist Church. He served faithfully on the Usher Board as well as a member of the choir.
He attended school in the Bessemer City School system and graduated from J.S. Abrams High School in 1972. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He was Honorably Discharged and returned to his home of residence in Bessemer, Alabama.
Over a period of time, he held various jobs and ultimately found the perfect job with the Bessemer City School system where he proudly worked for nine years.
He always had a smile on his face and lived a full and happy life. He had a generous and kind spirit and would help anyone in need. He “never met a stranger” and was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Essie and Robert Lee; two sisters, Jann and Natasha Lee; two sons, Larry Ware and Rico Braxton.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Sherry Lee; six children, LaKiya (Rodeski) Ware,
Latharius (ShaCarla) Ware, LaCorra Ware, Deacqulyn Thompson, Khristina Lee Brown and Edward Lee; one
brother, Robert (Tonetta) Lee; sisters, Feeleesher Shaw, Neshanta Lee and Debra Lee; one aunt, Johnnie Kelley;
twelve grandchildren, one great granddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
