Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Thomas was the fifth child of Tommie and Arlean Lee to this union. She was born March 12, 1936. At an early age, she confessed her belief in Christ and united with the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend White. As a child, she served in the Number 3 Choir. She attended Carver Elementary School and graduated from Dunbar High School. Elizabeth was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Willie Thomas. Elizabeth, better known as “Little Girl”, was always willing to prepare a meal to help anyone in need. She was known for her sweet potato pies. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and a caterer. She was a retired chef from the Blutcher Block.
Mrs. Thomas earthly journey ended on Thursday, May 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Shelliah D. Lee of Bessemer, AL; Rickey G. Lee of Helena, AL and Kenneth (Cherri) Lee, Sr. of McCalla, AL; nine grandchildren, Kellei R. Lee, LaKeisha C. Lee, Eric (Lashaunda) Lee, Jessica (Aaron) Green, Carlton (Tamara) Lee, Rickey (Sarah) Lee, Jr., Austin Blake Hunter, Jordan Scott Lee and Kenneth Lee, Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
