Ernestine O. Willis

THE BLESSING

Ms. Ernestine O. Willis was born July 7, 1941, to the late Brown and Virginia Oliver. She was born and raised in Westfield, Alabama and the youngest of three children.

Ms. Ernestine O. Willis received her education in the Jefferson County Public School System.

At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ and joined Hopewell Baptist Church, Wylam, Alabama. After uniting in holy matrimony to the late Ira D. Willis and moving to Brighton, Alabama, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending as she desired.

THE PROVIDER

The center of Ernestine's life was her family. She was a full-time loving wife, mother and homemaker and adored and cared for her family immensely.

Additionally, she touched the lives of many with her propound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and gregarious, outgoing nature. She possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about everyone.

THE LOVE

On September 16, 1962, she married Ira Don Willis. From this union they were blessed with four beautiful children: Stanley Earl (Deborah) Willis, Jennifer Denise (Martin) Hall, Ronald (Delicia) Willis, and Kim Lanette (Joseph Jr.) Alexander. They remained married for 55 years until his passing.

THE LEGACY

Her dear and awesome grandchildren: Damon, Steven, Shakyia (Pooh), Natasha (Candie), Ronald, Jr. (Junior), Ronnisha (Marcus) Simon, Ronteona (Teona), Rondasia (Dasia), JoNiah and Joseph, III (Tripp). Her joy continued with the addition of her great grandchildren, Dineyshia (DaDa), King, Arianna, Azaleia, and her little Raelyn (Boop).

THE GLORY OF GOD

Many Blessings to her sisters-in-love: Gladys Willis and Flora Willis and her brother-in-love, Wilbert Derrick. She cherished all her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.

She will now bask in God's Glory with her husband, Ira D. Willis; her mother and father, Brown and Virginia Oliver; her brothers, Noah Oliver, Andrew Oliver, and all those family members that have gone on before her. Oh, how they will Rejoice!
