Evans Sanders

Brother Evans Sanders, Jr. was born September 5, 1941 to the late Evans Sanders, Sr. and Ethel F. Sanders. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend W. Walker at New Bethlehem Baptist Church. In later years he joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend W. Sankey until his death. He then was under the leadership of Reverend C.E. Hollingswoth until his health failed. He was a retired iron powerman for Bethea Foundry. He departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at U.A.B. Medical Center West. One daughter, Lisa Sanders preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, Ethel L. Sanders; five daughters, Tabatha Lacey, LaTasha Sanders (Darie), Jacqueline Starks (Carlos), Jarita Sanders (Eric) and Sandra Sanders; two sons, Stanley Lacey (Carla), Evans C. Sanders all of Bessemer, Alabama; a special nephew, Undrell Lacey; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Sanders and Ruthie Mae Sanders; two godsons, Rapheal White and Darryl Fields; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
