Giovanni Tyson was born in Birmingham, AL on October 9, 1964 to Mrs. Dorothy Campbell Tyson and the late Mr. Johnnie Lee Tyson. At an early age, he was baptized at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and received Christ as his Lord and Savior. In his primary years Giovanni attended and graduated from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, class of 1979, and Holy Family High School class of 1983. His education continued at Alabama State University and Tuskegee University. His impeccable work ethic began to sprout as a curious and thriving youth at the age of five, working with "GRANDADDY" on the family farm in Akron, Alabama. As a hard worker in high school, he worked several jobs such as Pasquales Pizza, cutting grass, driving the school bus and helping on the farm. While in high school, his passion for animals grew stronger and stronger. During his years in college, he decided to pursue a career as a distinguished farmer and cowboy. In the late 1980's, until present day, Giovanni worked with Livingston Stockyard in Livingston, Alabama, Alabama Livestock Auction in Uniontown, Alabama and Cullman Stockyard in Cullman, Alabama. His professional affiliations were: Alabama Cattleman's Association, Alabama Farmers Federation, National Cattleman's Beef Association and The Real Cowboys Association. He was known to many as Roping Joe, Cowboy Joe and Beef Man. On April 29, 2015 at 2:15 A.M., God called Giovanni to his heavenly arena to join his angels. He was preceded in death by: father, Johnnie Lee Tyson; grandfather, Lee A. Campbell; grandfather, John Tyson, Sr.; grandmother, Willie Lee Tyson; grandmother, Laura Faulkus; great-grandmother, Georgia Ann Campbell (Mama Campbell); great-grandmother, Carrie Stuncil (Mama Carrie) and great-grandfather, Ed Pham. He leaves to cherish his memories: one loving daughter, Chelsea Daniels Hartford, CT; granddaughter, Trezshur Walford, Hartford,CT; loving mother, Dorothy C. Tyson; caring, dedicated and loving sister, Yolanda Tyson; brother and sister-in-law, Frank (Ethelyn) Willis; loving grandmother, Mattie M. Campbell (103 years old); love of his life, Ms. Lynn Lerner, Nashville, TN; aunts, Emphris C. (Gregory L) Barnes, Sr., Catherine B. Campbell, Crystal C. Smith, Carrie C. Rutland, Gary, IN, Gladys T. Long, Mildred T. (Rev. Willie) Jones, Doris T. Frazier, New York, NY; caring and devoted uncle, Dr. Lee George (Merline) Campbell, Natchez, MS, James Tyson, Roger Tyson, Crystal Height, MD and John Tyson, Jr., Virginia Beach, VA; nieces, little Frankie Willis and Ethelyn Willis; and a host of other relatives, friends and extended family.
