Henry E. Burroughs, Sr. was born February 12, 1929 to the late Madison & Carrie Burroughs in Bessemer, AL. He transitioned to his eternal rest on April 4, 2015. Henry was a faithful employee of Harbison & Walker Refractories for 46 years. He served as President of his local union 553 for many years, where his leadership abilities were well respected. Henry accepted and confessed Christ at an early age and was one of the founding members of Restoration Revival Tabernacle in Bessemer, AL. On March 9, 1952 he married the love of his life, Mary Frances "Sweet" Burroughs and to this union twelve children were born. He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Cathy and Janet; one son, Henry, Jr.; a special son-in-law, Michiel Hicks, Sr.; two brothers and a sister. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of 63 years Mary Burroughs; two sons, Roderick (Joyce) Burroughs and Demetrius Burroughs of Pleasant Grove; eight daughters, Patricia Hatch of Bessemer, AL, Linda Burroughs of Los Angeles, CA, Carolyn B. Parks of Atlanta, GA, Monica (Dorlan) Ebanks, Angela (Willie) Eaton, Sharon (Kevin) McClain, Teresa B. Hicks, Alicia (Rodney) Everson all of Pleasant Grove, AL; two sisters, Annie (Billy) Jackson of Flint, MI and Carrie Burroughs of Fairfield, AL; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
