On December 20, 1938, was born to the late Joe Brown, Sr. and Rosetta Brown in Bessemer, Alabama. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early aged and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Beverly Brown Strowder. Hugh Donald Brown served in the Macedonia Combined Choir, Macedonia Male Chorus, Choir Union, Trustee Ministry and the Jefferson County Community Male Chorus for several years. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1959. He was employed and retired from Jefferson County Board of Education. He worked as the custodian at Brighton Elementary and High School. He loved and greeted everyone he met with "Hey Now". He leaves a prime example of what unconditional love means. He was always willing to help others while at the same time keeping his home intact. When he was not driving behind the wheel of a car, you would see him smiling as he rode his bicycle throughout the community. His display of love will be cherished forever. Hugh Donald Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Brown, Sr. and Rosetta Brown and his daughter Pamela Denson. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 50 years, Helen Brown; three children, Donald, Christopher, and Zemekia Brown of Bessemer, Alabama; one brother, Joe (Mable) Brown, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Dorothy Little of Bessemer, Alabama; grandchildren, Gary and Roman Denson, Serenity Brown and Camille Chambless; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
