Joe Coleman

Mr. Joe Coleman Jr was born October 22, 1944 to the late Joe Pete Coleman Sr and Sadie Coleman in Bessemer, Alabama. He was blessed to 3 siblings: Ronald Colman (deceased), Brenda (Dude)Davis, and Sherry Coleman Moody. He finished high school in Bessemer and joined the Army. Joe met and married Ovetta Cunningham Coleman in August 1973 and became a hardworking husband. They were gifted and blessed with a beautiful daughter, Tamiko Coleman. Joe gave his life to Christ at an early age and was taught to take care of everyone , which he did tremendously. Joe raised 5 kids as his own: Raymond (deceased), Tanga, Toni(Greg), Darryl (April) and Phyllis . He showed love and always told you what was right . He leaves to Cherish his memories 8 terrific grandkids: Shondrea,Myldrallah,Tristan, Turrell, Anthony Jr(deceased), Deveonte, Montereous, and Shekinah. He also survived his nieces: Shahrah, Torah, Roslyn, and Myoshi. He had 6 nephews: Shang(deceased), Robert III, Horace Jr, Corey, Carlos , and Corday. He had a Son -in- Law Darryl Ward who laid close to his heart. On Wednesday March 29.2023 he transitioned, leaving his kindness and guidance to be continued by those who loved him unconditionally. He was blessed with great - grandkids too : Deveonte, Jordan, Carter, Caleb, Ramaya, Brad, Neheah, Riley, MaDison and Autumn . Mr. Joe was full of laughter and fun. He loved his recliner and tv. He loved to instill in others to “DO THE RIGHT THING“
