Obituary
Mrs. Lillie Mae Brooks was born to the late Roxie Bolden Tabb and the late Henry Bolden on April 20, 1925 in Greene County, Alabama. In her younger years she relocated to Bessemer, Alabama for some time and then moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she remained for over 40 years. It was there in Pittsburgh that she married the late Mr. Johnnie Brooks. She was a member of Brown Chapel CME Church where she served on the cooking and decorating staff. After being in Pittsburgh for 40 years, Lillie & Johnnie relocated to Brighton, Alabama in 2010. Lillie’s infectious smile and warm nature was a joy to be around. She never encountered a stranger in life.
Left to cherish her precious memories: stepdaughters, Johnnie Mae Smith, Adria Bouyer and Lillian Smith; granddaughter, Jameise Smith; great granddaughter, Riley Elyse Smith; brothers, Roosevelt Freeman, FL and James Bolden, TX; three nephew; one niece;very special caregiver, Laverne Bolling; and other relatives and friends.
