Lorraine King Miles had a passion for serving the Lord, her family, her church, and her community.
She was born November 5, 1934, to the late Carliese and Lillian Gordon. She received her elementary and high school education in the Bessemer City School System. She accepted Christ at an early age. Lorraine was a faithful member of Freewill Church in Christ in Hueytown, Alabama, where she served as a missionary for many years. She later joined
Impact Nation Fellowship Church in Adamsville, Alabama, where she served in the position of a “Mother”. Lorraine married Willie Miles on January 9, 1953. Their union was blessed with eight children, Charles (deceased) (Pearl) Walker, Leslie (William) Blackwell, Willie Jean Bankhead (deceased) (Larry),Sandra (Willie) Hinton, Fredrick (Lavonda) Miles, Roderick (Levet) Miles, Janet “Lynn” Miles, and Kimberly (Michael) Gordon. Lorraine had three brothers, Carliese, Lorenzo, and Gilbert Gordon, and two sisters¸ Shirley Beemon and Gail Driver. Cherished memories will always be in the hearts of her grandchildren, Jamina, Cory, Jenice, Fredrick, Christopher (deceased), Brittany, Justin, Jaeda, Roderick Jr., Malachi,
Makayla, Mariah, and a special nephew, David (Carnesa) Kynard, who played an essential and never wavering role in her care, along with a host of nieces, nephews, greatgrandchildren, family, and friends.
