Lucy White

Lucy J. White was born September 8, 1934 to the late German White and Lucille Boyd. Lucy attended Dunbar and was a graduate. Furthering her education she enrolled in Bessemer State Technical College where she studied Nursing and graduated as a certified LPN. Confessing her hope in Christ at an early age she joined New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Being an avid worker she worked at the Bessemer Health Department, Valley Nursing and a slew of other nursing facilities and hospitals. In July of 1969 Lucy was blessed to have a son, Ivan. A dedicated member to her church Lucy was a member of the Missionary and Trustee Board. On May 6, 2016 God saw fit to call His servant home. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving devoted son, Ivan (Janice) Shade; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Shanavian, Ronald, Colicia, Keandra and Ion Shade; eight great-grandchildren; Brother; Lewis White; four sisters, Ardean Caffey, Geraldine Lake, Eugene Cunningham and Blanche Clark; special nephew, Ricco Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
