Marjorie Marlette Burroughs

With humble submission to God's will, we celebrate the life and legacy of Marjorie "Dale" Marlette Burroughs, who entered eternal rest on April 16, 2026, at the age of 66.

Marjorie was born on November 24, 1959, to Robbie Carr Knight in Birmingham, Alabama.

At an early age, Marjorie accepted Christ, establishing a firm spiritual foundation that would guide her throughout her life. She united with Mount Zion Baptist Church in her youth and later became a devoted and faithful member of Faith Chapel Christian Center. There, she worshipped wholeheartedly and served with a joyful spirit. Her life was a living testament to her faith, as she exemplified love, compassion, and a quiet strength that reflected the presence of God in all she did.

Marjorie received her formal education through the Birmingham City Schools and was a proud graduate of Banks High School. She furthered her academic pursuits at The University of Montevallo, preparing herself for a life marked by diligence and purpose.

Professionally, Marjorie built a meaningful and respected career as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry. She was known for her dedication, her warm and welcoming demeanor, and her ability to bring comfort and kindness to every environment she entered.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marjorie's greatest joy was found in her roles as a devoted wife, loving mother, and gracious homemaker. She loved the Lord deeply, cherished her family wholeheartedly, and created a home filled with warmth and beauty. She delighted in decorating, faithfully serving in her church, and spending treasured moments with those she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Curtis Knight.

Marjorie's gentle spirit, radiant smile, and generous heart will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, Stanley Burroughs; her loving sons, Brandon (Danielle) and Patrick (Patricia); her devoted mother, Robbie Carr Knight (the late Curtis); her beloved siblings, Anthony, Victor (Gloria), Valerie (Walter), Deron (Janice), and Corey and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends and all who were blessed to know and love her.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she is loved beyond words. "Well done, good and faithful servant ... enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
