Mary Russell

Mary Ann Jones Russell, affectionately known as Bit, was born June 14, 1933 to the late Willie Anna and Adger Jones. Mary confessed her love for Christ at an early age and joined the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Mary was the youngest of five children, two of whom preceded her in death. Mary was born in Uniontown but raised in Bessemer, Alabama. Mary was a friend to everyone she encountered. Mary met and married Earnest Russell, Jr., To this union two children were born, Bernidette Russell and Frederick Russell. She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Bernidette Russell of Bessemer, AL and Frederick Russell of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kimbaly (Jeffery) Webb of Birmingham, AL , Carl Russell, Burg Russell, Mary (David) Harris of Birmingham, AL, Frederick Russell, Jr., David Russell of New York and Bess Warner of Florida; fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law; special friends, Loucille Chandlier, Dione Bonner, Debra Lockett, LaKita Bowers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
