Matthew Jones

Obituary Matthew Jones, Jr. was born March 8, 1955 to the late Matthew and Ruth C. Jones, Sr. in Kemper County. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. Matthew was a hard worker and was determined to finish any task he was given. He worked several jobs; his last job being at Academy Sporting Goods until his health begin to fail. He was preceded in death by: sister, Beatrice Jackson and brother, Elbert Peter Jones. On July 27, 2017 his earthly journey came to an end. Left to cherish his precious memories: sons, Angelo (Katavia) Parker, Adger, AL and Carlos Jones, Bessemer, AL; daughters, Kenisha and Matthelyn Jones, Bessemer, AL; grandchildren, Ca’Meiya Jones, Ca’Mia Jones, Destiny Henry and De’Yonna Henry; brother, Willie J. (Nazarine) Jones; sisters, Vertia L. (Milton) Hudson, Helen J. (Hueh) Vance and Amelia (Darryl) DeVould; aunts, Gladys Tonksley and Lucille Naylor; honorary son, Samuel Robinson; longtime friend, Roderick Abernathy; special friend, Charlotte Crenshaw and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
