On February 3, 1945 the union of Mose & Vealer Rembert Allen was blessed with the birth of twins in
Bessemer, Alabama. Mattie Jane was the name given to the eldest of the two girls and she was followed
by Annie Jean. The family was soon blessed with Christine (Richard) “the baby girl.”
Jane was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She attended and graduated from St. Francis
Catholic School and went on to attend Holy Family High School and graduated in 1962. She later
graduated from Bessemer Technical College fulfilling her studies as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
After she and Dave met and married, God blessed them with one daughter. Dave preceded Jane in death
in January 2020. Her loving smile and joking personality will be cherished forever by those of us who
knew and loved her.
Her memories will be forever cherished by her daughters, Marie (Thomas) Stoves and Wanda-Kay
(Samuel) Minter; grandchildren, Lawrence (Sarah) Michael, London, Monterrious (Alexis), Parker Marie,
Peyton, Paxton, Marvin- her favorite and Jameria; goddaughters, Sharonda, Shannon, Lenora and Rocky;
best friend, Leslie Blackwell; special friends, Nellie Billups and James Williams.
