B ROTHER MEXICO BAILEY was born September 24, 1914 to the late Richard and Ida Bailey. He confessed Christ at an early age. He served in the U.S. Army from June 13, 1941 to September 16, 1945. He retired from Kopper's in 1976. He was a very good and stern person. He loved to sit on the porch from the beginning of the day to the end of day, no matter how hot it was. If Mexico was not sitting on the porch everybody wanted to know if he was alright. He remembered everything and his memory lasted up until he was about 94 years old. Our Daddy lived a good life and he fought a good fight to try to make to his 100 birthday, which would have been September 24, 2014. But the Lord said it was time for him to rest and called him home. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary A. Bailey who preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death was two sons, Hugh Lee Bailey and Sonny Givens. Also, adopted grandson, Frederick L. Bailey (Bob); brother, L.E. Bailey; brother-in-law, Curtis Shaw and a son-in-law, Charles King. He leaves to cherish his memories: five daughters, Ida King of Joliet, Illinois, Diane Cooper of York, Alabama, Carleen Bailey of Bessemer, Alabama (Malcolm Taylorspecial friend), Dorothy Bailey (Virgil Hood) of Bessemer, Alabama and Bonita Marshall of Bessemer, Alabama; two special grandchildren, Breona Bailey and Renita Marshall; special great grandchildren, Valencia Bailey, Jillian Davis and Jarrious Meeks Bailey (adopted child); ten other grandchildren, Tyrone King, Bettye King, Reginald Green, Terina Bailey, Michael Taylor, Terrance Bailey, Terrance King, Jacqueline King Dautris Cooper and Darren Cooper; great grandchildren, Toya Bailey, Carlisa Bailey and Carlos Bailey; a host of other great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Bailey and Betty Shaw; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
