BIRTH

Ms. Patricia Walker Pharris was the first child born to Benjamin and Oreeda Walker on February 28, 1942.

CAREER

Patricia was a devoted nurse whose life was defined by compassion, service and unwavering dedication to the care of others.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

EDUCATION

Patricia graduated from Fairfield Industrial High School. She immediately attended nursing school at Grady Memorial Hospital School at Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia.

Patricia dedicated over 30 years to the field of nursing, completing her journey at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

FAITH

Beyond the hospital walls, Patricia as a devoted Christian, who confessed her love for Christ at an early age. She was a woman of unwavering faith, living out her beliefs daily. Patricia was an active member of Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church. She served as a member of the missionary society. Patricia was also a member of the stewardess board where she served as Treasurer.

She was known for her gentle spirit, unwavering belief, and the peace she carried even in difficult seasons. To family and friends, Patricia was a source of wisdom, prayer and support.

LEGACY

Patricia as preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Oreeda Walker; brother, Kenneth Walker and sister, Madeline Walker. A life of service love and accomplishment, Patricia leaves behind a profound legacy. She is survived by her daughter, who brought tremendous joy to her life: Traci (Vincent) Payne; her three cherished grandsons, Vincent "Vinny" Payne, III, Farris Payne, and Travin (Haleigh) Payne; the most recent love-of-her-life, great-granddaughter, Haevyn Noelle Payne; her brothers, Harold (Gloria) Walker and Gerard Walker; nieces, Cicely Roberts, Brittany (Jamarcus) Brown, Tiffany Walker, Jasmine and Jamesha Walker; nephews, Barry Walker, Brandon Walker, Tyree Walker and Jason Walker; great nephews, Kaleb Walker, Madison King; great nieces, Sydney Roberts, Kennedi and Alaysia Walker and a special cousin
Colette Monroe.
