Ruby Thrash

Biographical Sketch Ruby W. Thrash was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams in Bessemer, Alabama. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church Ninth Street in Bessemer, Alabama under the leadership of Rev. F. D. King. She later joined Twenty-First Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Thomas J. Thrash. She served on various committees within the church, coordinated Vacation Bible School and served as an organizer for the Baptist Training Union. Ruby was a faithful servant until she departed this life on May 27, 2016. She began her educational training in the Bessemer School System and graduated from Carver High School in 1961. She received her B.S. Degree from Alabama A &M University and her Master’s Degree in Education from Alabama State University. Ruby was joined in Holy Matrimony to Thomas J. Thrash on August 21, 1966. She devoted 28 years to the Jefferson County School System. Her passion was to educate and motivate others to be successful.
