Our beloved Sarah Cooks faithful, mother, grandmother, and sister made her transition to be with our heavenly father on July 21, 2013. Mrs. Cooks was born in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Jim Jones and Clara Fisher on October 17, 1933. She married the love of her life Judge Christopher Cooks who preceded her in death, and was received into the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on June13, 1962. She was a Financial Secretary, Treasury of the Alta Rosary Sodality, a coordinator of the Bible Study Class and a faithful member of the Usher Board. Mrs. Cooks had a heart for helping and caring for people in need. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved playing card games, dancing, and cooking. In memory she leaves three children: one daughter, Teresa Blanding (William), two sons, Charles Cooks (Laquita) and Tyrone Cooks (Gloria), William Ammons, seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Rosie (James), Louvenia, Clotelia, three brothers: Jimmy, Willie James (Mickey), Daniel (Edith); A host of nieces, nephews, friends and church members. The family wishes to express special thanks to Clayton County Dialysis. Sarah was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Rose, Josephine, Patricia; two brothers; Calvin, Phillip and Edward.
