Sharon Griggs

Sharon Elise Griggs was born June 26, 1956 in Birmingham, Alabama to Mr. Wiley and Mrs. Frances D. Griggs. She confessed Christ at an early age and later united with St. Marks AME Church in Titusville. Sharon was educated at Ramsay High School. Upon her completion, she furthered her education at Alabama State University and received her B.S. in Elementary Education. Sharon was blessed with two wonderful children; Anthony and Alexis Griggs. She had a love and passion for education to propel the youth forward. Sharon taught at Washington Elementary School for over 25 years, retiring from teaching in 2012. She was preceded in death by: parents, Wiley and Frances Griggs; brother, Wisey Griggs and grandson, Mason E. Griggs. Sharon was called from labor to rest on January 31, 2016. Left to cherish her memories are: children, Anthony and Alexis Griggs; grandchildren, Maliah and Zeriyah Griggs; brothers, Wiley (Anita) Griggs, Jr., Andre Wright and Adolphus T. Griggs; sister, Deborah Cunningham and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
