Stephen Beckwood

Stephen Lawrence Beckwood was born on June 12, 1982 to Donna Beckwood and the late David Thomas at Brookwood Medical Center in Homewood, AL. Stephen accepted Christ at an early age and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor William E. Scott. Stephen was a graduate of Jess Lanier High School, Bessemer, AL class of 2000. He was a participant in the Marching, Concert and Jazz Band. After completing high school Stephen attended Bessemer State Technical College, where he studied Automotive Electronics.  Stephen enjoyed being around family and friends. He was a proud and devoted father to his son, Jaden Lawrence Beckwood. On the evening of Wednesday, May 3, 2017 God gently touched Brother Stephen Lawrence Beckwood and called him to rest. He was preceded in death by: father, David Thomas; grandparents, Henry and Annie Beckwood; three uncles, John Smith, Tommy Beckwood, Rev. Gregory Woods and Henry Beckwood. He leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Jaden Beckwood, Reno, NV; a loving mother, Donna Beckwood; grandparents, Grace (Arthur) Hill and John (Cenolia) Thomas; aunts, Laura Jackson, Cornelia Smith, DeVera Beckwood Burroughs, Jennifer Beckwood Woods, Andrea Kidd, Aretha Dennis, Jeanette Wells, Carolyn Beckwood and Kenna (Andre) McCoy all of Bessemer, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.
