Tyrone (Turone) Hudson was born on March 13, 1961, in Sawyerville, Alabama. He was the youngest of six children born to the late William Hudson, Jr. and Emma (Yamma) O'Neal Hudson.
From an early age, Tyrone embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and being baptized at St. Stephen's Baptist Church in Sawyerville.
Affectionately known as "Turone" to his family and "Mr. Hudson" by his wife, Tyrone graduated with honors from Hale County Training School in 1979. He further pursued his passion for music at Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he showcased his talent as a saxophonist.
In 1982, Tyrone enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and soon transitioned to the Regular Component of the U.S. Army. His service took him to various stations, including Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Lee, Virginia, and overseas in Germany and Saudi Arabia. After 15 years of dedicated service, he retired in 1997 from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, having received numerous accolades, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Tyrone met his loving wife, Latrice George Hudson, in 1982 married in 1989, and they spent 35 joyful years together, raising two daughters. After retiring from the military, he moved to Peoria, Illinois, where he worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 20 years before retiring in 2017. Tyrone and Latrice later returned to Alabama, where they cherished time with family and embraced the simple pleasures of life.
An avid enthusiast of bowling, card games, fishing, and gardening, Tyrone also loved traveling with his family and riding his motorcycle. His warmth and zest for life touched everyone he met.
Tyrone was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of October 8, 2024, at Shelby Baptist Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Hudson, as well as his brothers, Carl, Hayes, and Larry Hudson, and sister, Jocelyn Hudson Gordon.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Latrice Hudson, of Alabaster, AL; daughters, Eleanita (Malachi) Franklin of Adamsville, AL and Tyesha (Angel) Garcia of Peoria, IL; five cherished grandchildren, Deja, Markeith, and Elijah Franklin of Adamsville, AL, Ajay and Hudson Garcia of Peoria, IL. He is also survived by his siblings, Dr. Gwendolyn (Herbert) Jones of Hudson, OH and Cecelia (Cornelius) Washington of Helena, AL; uncle, Robert (Winfred) Hudson of Brighton, AL; aunt, Mattie (Rollen) of Youngstown, OH; special niece, Latasha (Frederick) Clay of Maylene, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Tyrone's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
