Vickie Ann Davis Spencer (Pig) was born on June 20, 1959 in Eutaw, Alabama to the late Jimmy Belton Sr. and Mary Louise Davis. Out of a labor of love, she was adopted as an infant by her uncle and aunt, Nelson and Margret Davis, and was moved to Bessemer, Alabama. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and began playing an active role at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. G.W.C. Richardson. She was a faithful member of Mt. Hebron for many years. From there she joined the New Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William H. Walker, Sr. where she remained a faithful member until her death. Throughout Vickie's life, she was an active member and participant of various organizations. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Esther #1 and a member of The Alabama Area Council of Women Christian Fellowship. Vickie was educated in the Bessemer City School System and was a proud graduate of Jess Lanier High School Class of 1977. Vickie attended Alabama A&M University, and Herzing College where she excelled in her studies in Business Management. Throughout her years, she received special training, skills, and completed certifications from different areas of computer science, programming, and software operations. Vickie was also a profound grant writer, and wedding Planner/ Directress who was well known throughout Jefferson County. Vickie always stayed busy even when her health failed and was involved in many activities involving the youth which included: the Jess Lanier High School Band Boosters, Bessemer Oratorical Contest Developer, S.H.A.R.E. and Drugstore Program, Community Awareness Coordinator, Dunbar Community Awareness Adviser, Camp Bessemer Program and countless other activities. Vickie transferred from this earthly realm on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in her sleep. She was preceded in death by her parents: Nelson & Margaret Davis. She leaves to mourn: a caring and loving husband of 34 years, Willie G. Spencer Jr.; three children; Vikesha Davis Exford, Monica E. Spencer, and Kimberly Spencer; five grandchildren; Tremisha M. Exford, Justin Wilder, Ian D. Kelley, Amari S. Kelley and Cameron S. Levert; Siblings; Ola Bell D. Benderson, Eutaw, AL, Primus Davis (Wanda), Eutaw, AL, Andrew Davis (Annie), Patterson, NJ, Cathy D. Tchinda (Paul), Patterson, NJ, Arlanchick Davis, Patterson, NJ, Tommy Wilson (Mary), Eutaw, AL; Dorothy Simmons, Eutaw, AL; Phyllis J. Coleman (Arthur), Birmingham, AL. Aunts: Willie Mae Walton, Eutaw, AL ; Olivia Calligan, (Perry), Eutaw, AL, Bernice Belton, Tampa, FL ; Uncle: Roosevelt Belton Sr. (Savannah), Detroit, MI ; In-laws, Willie Sr. and Annie Spencer, Tuscaloosa, AL. God-children; Victor Jones, Dallas, TX, Vernee` J. Kimber, Helena, AL, Vonda Jones, Bessemer, AL, Nickolas Seawright, Hoover, AL. Her life would not have been complete without her very special friends: Rosalind W. Toney, Jacquenetta W. Seawright, Vickie F. Jones, and Teresa W. Young in addition to a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
