Ms. Willie Mae Young, affectionately known as “Madea”, was born in Dallas County, Alabama, on April 6, 1931, to the late Mr. Louis Young, Sr. and Mrs. Cora Ballom Young.
At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a member of the 5th Avenue Bethel Baptist
Church for many years.
Willie Mae Young was the matriarch of the family. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and riding
in the car. Her presence will greatly be missed, and her memory will be cherished in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Ben “Jerry” (Natalie) Wilson of Queens, NY, Reginald Young of Alabaster, AL; two daughters, Linda Ware and Veronica (Ebb) Walter of Bessemer, AL; five sisters, Norma Jean Adams of Bessemer, AL, Cherry Jean Young of Uniontown, AL, Pamela (Robert) Humphrey of Chelesa, AL, Stephany Honeycutt of Bessemer, AL, Karol (Harrison) Mayfield of Athens, AL; three brothers, Gregory Young of Kansas City, Clifford Young of Hueytown, AL, Clyde (Andrea) Young of Birmingham, AL; eight grandchildren, Tinisha, Joris, Rodrickus, Nakia, Ben, Jr. Tiffany, Troy and James, Jr; fifteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons and a host of relatives and friends.
