In Loving Honor of
Rickney Bryonne Hunter

Rickney B. Hunter
1993 - 2024
Rickney Bryonne Hunter was a devoted son, loving father, and dedicated professional whose life embodied excellence, integrity, and compassion. Born on February 10, 1993, Rickney grew up surrounded by faith, family, and a community that nurtured his inquisitive spirit. He was baptized at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama.
A proud graduate of Hoover High School’s Class of 2011, Rickney excelled academically and athletically as a member of the Hoover Bucs football team. His commitment to learning and his drive to conquer challenges led him to further his education at Alabama A&M University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He continued advancing his studies in pursuit of a Master’s Degree while working full time.
Answering a call to serve, Rickney honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, including a tour in Kuwait. His dedication to excellence carried into every role he embraced—most notably his work as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. With an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Service Education from Jefferson State Community College, Rickney served as General Manager of Chambers Funeral Home, Inc., bringing leadership, innovation, and heartfelt service to the families he cared for.
Professionally, he also excelled as a Test Engineer at the Redstone Test Center (RTC) on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. His intelligence, discipline, and work ethic allowed him to thrive in demanding environments, always rising to meet the challenges before him.
Of all his accomplishments, Rickney’s greatest joy was being a father. The birth of his daughter, Alaïa, transformed his life and became his proudest purpose. He embraced fatherhood with unmatched devotion—pouring his heart, time, and energy into being fully present, loving, and committed to his baby girl.
Rickney carried with him words of affirmation that guided his daily walk:
“This is the beginning of a new day… I want it to be for gain, not loss; good, not evil; success not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it.”
These words reflected how he lived—with intention, kindness, purpose, and faith.
At Chambers Funeral Home, his presence remains woven into the fabric of our mission. His dedication to service, leadership, excellence, and compassion continues to guide the work we do each day.
